Overview

Cosmetology students in Kentucky are required to attend school for 1,800 hours. This requires no less than 10 months and two weeks, or 225 days of school attendance under instruction. Manicuring students are required to attend 600 hours or a minimum of 75 days of school attendance under instruction. 

Our school is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The school is closed Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Enrollment is continuous throughout the year. We enroll students on Monday, the first day of our school week. Anyone wishing to enroll must be at least 16 years of age and have at least a 10th grade education. The required educational proof shall be any of the following:

     1. A transcript of subjects and grades showing the applicant has completed grades 9 and 10.
     2. G.E.D. test indicating a minimum grade of 39.
     3. If the student has graduated high school or completed the G.E.D. test for four years of high school, his or her diploma may be presented.
     4. Some home school programs may not be accepted.

The cost of the training is:
     Kit containing supplies.........................................$204.00
     Textbook, workbook and State Board Review.......225.00
     Mannequin and stand...............................................56.00
     Fee to State of Kentucky.........................................15.00
     Enrollment fee........................................................400.0

Total to start school....................................................$900.00

Cost of remainder of training will be $400 per month until completion of 1,800 hours.

Tuition is set up on a pay-as-you-go plan. However, if it is necessary to drop out of school or if at the end of training only a portion of the month is left owing, adjustments will be made so that tuition is only paid for the actual period enrolled.

Dress code: Ladies...Black slacks, tops, lab jackets and shoes.
                    Tops should have sleeves sufficient to cover the 
                     underarms or any tattoos on the arms. 
                    (no jeans, shorts, etc.)
                    Men...Black smocks, dark slacks (no jeans), dark 
                    shoes.
